the Junior, Women’s, and National Championship Regattas at Lake Hopatcong Yacht
Club in Mt. Arlington, NJ August 10-13, 2011. You don’t want to
miss this!
- LHYC
is over 100 years old, and boasts a rich tradition of excellent sailboat
racing . It’s great facilities,
experienced race management personnel, and close proximity to other clubs
in the northeast, make it a venue many sailors enjoy visiting each year. Current
fleets include E Scows, Stars, Thistles, and A-Cats. LHYC was home to one
of the early Jet fleets in the late 1950’s and 60’s, and hosted the Jet-14
Nationals in 1969.
- Please
check the Notice of Race (on Class website) for eligibility, fees, measurement
and schedule. All forms will be posted on the website as well as mailed to
Class members in June. There is no
online registration this year; registration must be done by regular mail
or in person at LHYC.
- HOW TO
GET THERE From Route 80,
proceed to Exit 30 (Howard
Blvd), and take Howard Blvd towards Mt.Arlington. Just over 1 mile, turn left on Oneida Ave (up
steep hill). Proceed to end (up, then down steep hill), and turn right
onto Mt. Arlington Blvd. Go approximately 50 yards, then turn left onto
Bertrand Island Rd. Road will bend left, then go up a hill. Proceed
through pillars at top of hill, then take immediate right (Oak Street.
PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY—CHILDREN AT PLAY. Proceed to end, and turn left on North
Bertrand. Entrance to LHYC is on the right.

Camping
is available on a limited basis approximately 15 minutes away at the
Mahlon Dickerson grounds (www.morrisparks.net/aspparks/mahlonmain.asp)

also a limited number of LHYC members’ homes for participants to stay.

Continental breakfast and on-the-water lunches for Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday, and Friday dinner are provided
as part of the entry fee. There are a
variety of
small eateries around the lake, as well as the national chains within 10 miles.
- MEASUREMENT As in years past, a
Measurement Form has been provided so that
some/many items can be checked and measured prior to arrival at LHYC.
This will greatly reduce the measurement time at the regatta site. If you
have been measured-in for a previous nationals, and not performed any
modifications or repairs to the boat or rig, only the following will need
to be measured: 1) boat weight, 2) new sails (previously measured sails
will be checked for stamp), and 3) safety equipment.
- LHYC
ACTIVITIES LHYC is a very
active club providing junior sailing and swimming programs, as well as
social functions on a daily basis. During the Jet 14 Nationals, these
activities will be in full-swing. Car parking is available in the club
parking lot in marked spaces, and along the road adjacent to the club lot.
- CLUB
RULES 1) No camping or pets
allowed on club grounds.

All food and beverages must be purchased from LHYC.
