A Rare Opportunity to own Jet 14 #564
Paul Spens, a member of RYC and who once gave HSC a tour of the Stevens towing tanks, has given his Jet # 564 to the Class. Paul sailed 564 for many years at Raritan YC.
This glass boat seems to be in quite good condition. The hull looks very good, needing a wet sanding. It has aluminum spars, a rudder and centerboard, and what would seem to be a serviceable trailer.
Brian Mohan says that the hull is one of the very desireable Mobjack hulls (think 898 (!) and others) famous for hull stiffness. It is not tanked, and comes with no papers. It needs replacement flotation bags and sails, and to have the deck sanded and repainted, but otherwise just some TLC.
The boat is being sold as-is, where-is. The first person to give me a check for $564 made out to the Jet 14 Class Association takes it away (must be removed within the following 2 weeks). 564 is at the HSC area of Spruce Run Recreation Area in Clinton, NJ,
This could be the proverbial "Diamond in the Rough!".
