Dave and Sue Michos Recognized for Efforts at EYC

Greetings Jetters:

I am very please to report that Jet-14 Sailors, Dave and Sue Michos have been awarded Edgewater Yacht Club's highest individual yacht racing honor, "Sailor of the Year".    The award was presented at the 2006 Sailor Awards Meeting by Edgewater Yacht Club's Fleet Captain, Mike Dills.  In his presentation speech, Mike pointed out the Significant accomplishments of Dave and Sue, sailing as a Jet-14 team, and the couple's individual accomplishments as well.  Mike also made the point that this is only the second time in the history of the award that it was won by a "team".  Past award winners, the Nesbett Family, were previously the only team winners.   Incidentally, Richard Nesbett is a past Jet-14 sailor and son, Rich, is a current Jetter.   Among past recipients is also Jet-14 sailor, John Gemperline.     In his acceptance speech, Dave thanked the Club, the Jet-14 Fleet 60, and his wife Sue Michos.   Sue appeared to be genuinely surprised by the honor and found it difficult to find her words, only to be able to utter a heart felt thank you.    This is truly a well deserved recognition for this sailing couple, and brings great honor to the Jet-14 fleet.    Congratulations Dave and Sue!
